The study summarizes the findings of research on the link between productivity and investment in information technology. One of its conclusions is that, although the link between information technology and productivity may sometimes be difficult to establish empirically, it seems increasingly clear from the literature that this link does exist and has had the anticipated effect. In addition, it seems that this impact is felt only if accompanied by complementary investments, particularly in human capital and knowledge and process re-engineering.
