A twofold mission: Conducting research and transferring knowledge

The Centre for Productivity and Prosperity has a twofold mission:

  1. Conducting research and analyses on the determinants of societies’ performance in terms of productivity. This aspect of the Centre’s mission also includes studying the connection between productivity and prosperity, i.e. the impact of productivity on the standard of living to which a society can aspire. The Centre focuses mainly on Quebec and Canada as a whole.
  2. Sharing research findings using the most appropriate means for the audience concerned. This aspect includes the goal of economic education, based on sharing knowledge with the broadest possible audience.

To fulfill its mission, the Centre provides its researchers with all the resources they need to carry out their work. The Centre also devotes a substantial proportion of its resources to transferring and sharing knowledge and to economic education in various forms: workshops, symposia, documents aimed at a general audience, teaching tools, electronic communications, etc.
